The Department of Social Work at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Concepci\u00f3n continues to develop the academic stay of Dr. Mar\u00eda Guevara Perea, a predoctoral researcher in the Doctorate in Social Sciences at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Spain), who began her work at UdeC on November 26<\/strong> and whose stay will formally extend until December 24, 2025<\/strong>, within the framework of the international INCASI2 \u2013 Horizon Europe<\/strong> project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The researcher, with solid training in Human Rights<\/strong>, Political Science, and International Studies, and experience as the founder of the NGO LuzAzuL<\/strong>, has developed a broad and diverse work agenda<\/strong> together with the Department of Social Work<\/strong>, the Master’s in Social Work and Social Policies<\/strong>, and the Social Work Program<\/strong>, combining academic activities, territorial outreach, and progress on her doctoral thesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A collaborative agenda that strengthened academic exchange<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

According to the official planning, the agenda began on Wednesday, November 26<\/strong> with a welcome meeting<\/strong>, led by Gustavo Castillo<\/strong> and Dr. Cecilia Bustos Ibarra<\/strong>, then moved to Talcahuano to participate in a Ni\u00f1ez Migrante project workshop<\/strong> alongside teachers from the Diego Portales School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday 27<\/strong>, Guevara held a meeting with students from the Master’s in Social Work and Social Policies<\/strong>, followed by the INCASI Living Lab<\/strong>, held in the Patricia Witham Kiley Degree Hall<\/strong> and broadcast in hybrid mode. The activity brought together members of the university community, international networks, and researchers from other institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday 28<\/strong>, she participated in a guided tour of the UdeC Campus<\/strong> and a camaraderie lunch<\/strong> with faculty, thesis students, and INCASI2 UdeC team members. On Monday, December 1<\/strong>, she attended the Qualitative Research<\/strong> class alongside third-year Social Work students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the following weeks, the researcher continues developing thesis work and coordination meetings<\/strong> with the local team, within the framework of her INCASI2 stay commitments until December 24<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strengthening of international networks and research projection<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The visit has allowed for deepening academic ties and strengthening the collaboration networks of the INCASI2<\/strong> project, which brings together more than 24 European and Latin American universities and organizations. The exchange focuses on comparative methodologies<\/strong>, social inequalities, and interdisciplinary approaches, which are the pillars of the international consortium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Cecilia Bustos Ibarra<\/strong>, the UdeC lead researcher for the INCASI2<\/strong> project, has highlighted the value of this stay for enriching teaching, research, and territorial outreach at the Faculty, emphasizing that the experience brings new perspectives for collaborative work between Chile and Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
