In October 2025, within the framework of postdoctoral research stays, professors Mar\u00eda Celeste G\u00f3mez<\/strong> and Cecilia Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong>, and professor Facundo Quiroga<\/strong> actively participated in various scientific events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Cecilia Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong> participated in the XI Congreso de Migraciones 2025<\/a><\/strong>, organized by the RETYDES Research Group (Territorial Restructuring and Social Inequalities) of the Sociology Department at the University of Murcia, held in Murcia (Spain), from October 15 to 17, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She presented an individual paper titled \u201cWhat can Sayad contribute to the study of Argentine migrations? Notes to reconstruct the class-migrations conceptual alliance\u201d and another paper co-authored with Daniela Herrera Rubalcaba titled \u201cCapitals in motion: inequalities and strategies of (im)mobility of Argentine migration to Spain\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this event, she also coordinated a symposium with another colleague, Jordi Moreras Palenzuela<\/strong>, titled \u201cAfter Sayad. Reception of his work in the Hispanic American context\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n

She also participated in the IV Conversatorio sobre Migraciones Internacionales<\/strong> at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Almer\u00eda (UAL), on October 14<\/strong>. The event was organized by the Center for the Study of Migrations and Intercultural Relations (CEMyRI<\/strong>) and the European Documentation Center of the UAL. The central presentation<\/a> was given by Prof. Jim\u00e9nez and delved into the multicausality that characterizes these processes, going beyond simplistic economic explanations to explore a web of social, political, and personal factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And more recently, she participated in the Ciclo Pioneras<\/strong> at the University of Murcia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Mar\u00eda Celeste G\u00f3mez<\/strong> participated in the 29th Forum for Macroeconomics and Macroeconomic Policies \u201cGendering Macroeconomics\u201d<\/a><\/strong>, organized by the Macroeconomic Policy Institute (IMK) of the Hans-B\u00f6ckler-Foundation and held in Berlin on October 23, 24, and 25, 2025<\/strong>.<\/a>\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She presented the paper titled \u201cGender inequality and productive heterogeneity in Argentina. Thirty years of gender gaps in the labour market<\/strong>\u201d in session E1: Gender pay gap<\/strong>.<\/a>\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Facundo Quiroga<\/strong> conducted his stay at the University of La Laguna during September and October 2025<\/strong>. During this time, he delivered the capstone class titled \u201cThe university as a complex organization<\/strong>\u201d for students in the Sociology of Organizations course. He also participated in a research seminar organized by the SAPTEN Group<\/a><\/strong> with the presentation titled \u201cProjects in dialogue: perspectives and collaborations in SAPTEN<\/strong>\u201d, aimed at describing ongoing research lines and potential collaboration opportunities between UNC teams and ULL groups.<\/p>\n\n\n
