We argue that ‘mixedness’ is one of the most important tests for determining societal structure and for exposing social divisions, and therefore is a phenomenon that carries important policy implications and may significantly contribute to social and cultural transformation.

The INMIX has conducted a number of research projects on this subject, and is very committed to the dissemination and transfer of knowledge from academia to the political and civic spheres. We are interested in producing and disseminating a body of policy- and practice-relevant research to help bridge the research-policy divide, and to do so, we partake in conferences, debates, media releases, and different activities involving the civic and administrative spheres.

With an extensive academic international network, The INMIX has a permanent interest in conducting international comparisons and in collaborating with researchers from other countries.

The group has a fully equipped office (the INMIX Lab), fostering collaboration and guidance in research and career development. Its members also have access to the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology’s central services (e.g. computers, internet access, administrative support, etc.).

We are open to host academic visitors and researchers who wish to join the group with external funding.

We are also open to discussing and supporting applications for pre- and postdoctoral researchers applying for funding to competitive calls such as FPU, FI, Juan de la Cierva, Ramon y Cajal, Margarita Salas, Maria Zambrano, Beatriu de Galindo, Marie Skłodowska-Curie, and ICREA Senior.

Members

Dan Rodríguez-García (Director.
