The team is efficiently organized into three Technological Units (namely the Nanopharmacology Unit, the Protein Drug Unit and the Bacteriology Unit), that perform collaborative activities and basic and applied research in drug design. We pay a special attention to nanomedical areas but also considering protein-drugs, whole-cell drugs and chemical drugs using unconventional mechanisms of action. In this context, our research lines explore novel concepts and biomedical approaches for the generation of innovative drugs, vaccines and immunomodulators for tailoring and use in a rather broad set of clinical conditions, including cancer, rare diseases, infectious diseases and veterinary medicine.
