
Associate Professor in the Logistics and Aeronautics Unit within the Department of Telecommunications and Systems Engineering at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. I am the Coordinator of the Degree in Aeronautical Management.
I hold a Ph.D. in Network and Information Technologies (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, UOC), an M.S. in Applied Statistics and Operations Research (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, UPC & Universitat de Barcelona, UB), a B.Sc. in Applied Statistics (UAB), and a B.Sc. in Economics (UAB).
I am currently developing two lines of research:
- Design of optimization algorithms leveraging metaheuristics, machine learning, and/or simulation, applied to sustainable logistics and transportation.
- Enhancement of Airspace Capacity
I am the Principal Investigator (PI) of a competitive national project (Air-ST Frame) and have participated in other competitive projects: three European (ANTICIPATE, GEESE, and E-PILOTS), two national, and one regional (industrial phd). I have supervised or am supervising six doctoral theses. I have published over 40 JCR-indexed articles and more than 25 conference proceedings, many of them in international collaboration. Additionally, I have been a visiting scholar at the University of Portsmouth and Guy Carpenter. Since 2025, I’m a project evaluator for the Agencia Estatal de Investigación(Spanish National Research Agency).
