The project demonstrates how eVTOLs, drones, and manned aircraft can operate&nbsp;<strong>safely, securely, sustainably, and efficiently<\/strong>&nbsp;within a&nbsp;<strong>fully integrated airspace<\/strong>, without negatively affecting existing ATM operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Building on the original&nbsp;<strong>SESAR CORUS U\u2011space Concept of Operations (ConOps)<\/strong>&nbsp;delivered in 2019, CORUS\u2011XUAM extends the framework to address the specific needs of&nbsp;<strong>UAM operations<\/strong>, including the identification of new&nbsp;<strong>U3 and U4 U\u2011space services<\/strong>. The project begins with an update of the ConOps to support the integration of UAM and UAS into controlled and uncontrolled airspace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the core of the project are&nbsp;<strong>six challenging VLD campaigns conducted at six European locations<\/strong>. These demonstrations validate integrated operations involving UAM, UAS, and manned aviation through&nbsp;<strong>advanced digital data exchange and U\u2011space services<\/strong>&nbsp;in urban, suburban, and inter\u2011city environments, as well as in and around ATM\u2011controlled airspace and major airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The VLDs cover a wide range of missions, including&nbsp;<strong>passenger transport, logistics, delivery, emergency response, and surveillance<\/strong>, and demonstrate key capabilities such as&nbsp;<strong>vertiport procedures, separation services, data services, and coordination between ATC, pilots, and U\u2011space actors<\/strong>. The results are used to further consolidate the ConOps and are supported by&nbsp;<strong>continuous engagement with authorities, stakeholders, and end users<\/strong>, contributing to the future deployment of UAM in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this project,\u00a0<strong>Aslogic<\/strong>, our startup spin-off, acted as the\u00a0<strong>USSP technology partner<\/strong>, while\u00a0<strong>our research group also operated as a drone operator<\/strong>, supporting real flight operations.
