Carles Prado-Fonts (PhD, Translation Theory and Intercultural Studies, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) was trained in Chinese literary and cultural studies at the Beijing Language and Culture University, the University of Westminster, London, and the University of California, Los Angeles. He has worked on the first cross-cultural representations between modern Chinese literature and the West and currently works on the tensions between the global literary system and contemporary Chinese and Sinophone literatures. His particular research and teaching interests gravitate around concepts such as Cultural Studies, postmodernity, globalization, otherness and recognition or ethics and legitimacy.
