{"id":657,"date":"2017-01-10T11:42:05","date_gmt":"2017-01-10T11:42:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/geografia.uab.cat\/interfase\/?p=657"},"modified":"2017-01-10T11:42:05","modified_gmt":"2017-01-10T11:42:05","slug":"land-recycling-in-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/interfase\/2017\/01\/10\/land-recycling-in-europe\/","title":{"rendered":"Land recycling in Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The EEA has recently published a report entitled &#8220;<a title=\"Land recycling in Europe\" href=\"http:\/\/www.eea.europa.eu\/highlights\/land-recycling-helps-europe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Land recycling in Europe<\/a>&#8220;, which\u00a0presents approaches to measuring the extent and impacts of redevelopment and densification of previously developed land.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Chapter 2, &#8216;The extent of land recycling and densification&#8217;, was developed largely under the<br \/>\nETC\/ULS 2015 task 1.8.2.8 &#8216;Use of Urban Atlas (UA) and Corine Land Cover (CLC) data to calculate land<br \/>\nrecycling and densification&#8217;, by Roger Milego (UAB), Rastislav Stanik (EEA) and Geertrui Louwagie (EEA).<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-659\" src=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/interfase\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/535\/2017\/01\/Land_recycling.jpg\" alt=\"Land_recycling\" width=\"739\" height=\"737\" srcset=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/interfase\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/535\/2017\/01\/Land_recycling.jpg 739w, https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/interfase\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/535\/2017\/01\/Land_recycling-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/interfase\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/535\/2017\/01\/Land_recycling-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 739px) 100vw, 739px\" \/><br \/>\nOn average, land recycling has increased in Europe but the levels remain low compared to land take, the report shows.\u00a0Based on Copernicus satellite data, land recycling as a share of total land consumption across EEA member and cooperating countries (EEA-39) has increased from about 2.0-2.2 % in 1990-2000 to about 2.7-2.9 % in 2006-2012.
