The Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Center for Women and Development (Monrovia, Liberia) and Harvard Library (Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA) are collaborating to preserve, digitize, and provide online access to archival materials documenting the life and presidency of Madame Sirleaf. This project brings together materials from two continents through an online portal, while maintaining custody and authority over the records in their country of origin.

The final outcome will be a robust documentary legacy of President Sirleaf’s extraordinary work and leadership as President of Liberia and advocate for women’s rights, publicly accessible in an inclusive knowledge space, promoting both governmental transparency and inspiration for future generations of leaders.

Project partners will present the development, process, challenges, and expected outcomes of this collaboration.
