Sirpa Kuitulainen is the Preservation and Digital Resources Coordinator at the Design Archives of the University of Brighton, where she has worked since 2002 in conservation, collections care, and digitization of 20th-century archival materials, mostly on paper. She holds a degree in Photography from the University of Brighton and a postgraduate qualification in Conservation from the University of the Arts London (Camberwell). She is a founding member and co-leader of the HVAC Shutdown Group. She has a strong passion for sustainability in both her professional and personal life, and a deep motivation and curiosity to find practical solutions to “traditional” problems.
