CAiAC is a Studies and Research Centre within UAB, created in 2010. CAIAC is formed mainly by two complementary groups: CEPHIS from Engineering and TransMedia Catalonia from Audiovisual Translation. Members come also from other areas such as the Group of Graphic Visualisation and Modelling from Engineering, the Research group in Phonetics (Philology) and the Group of Image, Sound and Synthesis from Audiovisual Communication. There are also individual researchers from Philosophy or Humanities who make of CAiAC a centre with researchers from eight different departments.
The director of the centre is Dr Jordi Carrabina, and there are some 60 people from 8 departments and 4 different centres working under the umbrella of Ambient Intelligence from different disciplines, methodologies and approaches.
