Alexander Fidora is ICREA Research Professor at the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona and Executive Director of the Institute of Medieval Studies<\/span><\/a>.
Born in 1975 in Offenbach (Germany), he studied philosophy at the Uni\u00adversity of Frankfurt and the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma of Barcelona, obtaining his PhD in 2003 at Frankfurt University. He has been a researcher in the Department of Philosophy at Frankfurt University since 1999, where he has been co-director of a research project at the University of Frankfurt, funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemein\u00adschaft. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the SIEPM<\/span><\/a> and president of the Spanish Society of Medieval Philosophy (SOFIME<\/span><\/a>). His research focuses on intercultural and inter-religious aspects of medieval philosophy (see also the ERC-project \u201cLatin into Hebrew\u201d. He has been a visiting professor at Saint Louis University, the Universidad Panamericana (Mexico), the University Erlangen-Nuremberg and the University of Pennsylvania.
In 2011 he was awarded the “Premi Internacional Catal\u00f2nia<\/span><\/strong><\/a>“, the highest distinction of the Catalan Academy (Institut d\u2019Estudis Catalans), in 2012 he received the “Samuel Toledano Prize<\/span><\/a>” (Interview on Radio Sefarad<\/span><\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
