Dr. Melinda Dooly is a Serra Húnter Full Professor in the Department of Language & Literature Education and Social Science Education at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where she is affiliated with the GREIP research centre. Her research focuses on technology-supported project-based language learning, intercultural communication, and the development of 21st-century competences in teacher education.

Dr. Dooly was lead researcher of the GREIP research centre from 2014 to 2015 and has taken part as principal investigator or team researcher in more than 40 local, national, and international research projects. She has published widely in international journals and has authored and edited numerous books and book chapters in her areas of expertise. She was the creator and founding editor of the Bellaterra Journal of Teaching & Learning Language & Literature and currently serves as co-editor of the Peter Lang book series Telecollaborative Learning and Virtual Education in Education (formerly Telecollaboration in Education). She has presented at over 100 peer-reviewed academic conferences and is frequently invited to deliver keynote talks and lectures worldwide. She also serves as a core member of the Research Council for Education at the Spanish National Agency for Investigation.
