The Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027) underscores the need for higher levels of digital capacity of education and training systems and institutions across the EU countries, including the necessity of identifying and developing innovative teaching and policy approaches that have the potential of becoming mainstreamed, based on evidence-based real-life situations which can be replicated and upscaled. Aligned with these identified needs, LIVRE will explore the impact of AI-enhanced, mid and high-immersion Virtual Reality (VR) on the language learning outcomes and technology acceptance of students and teachers at 3 different stages: primary, secondary and university level (preservice teacher education).
Main Objectives:
- O1. Identify the perceived benefits and challenges associated with the integration of AI and VR technology in language education, as reported by students and teachers.
- O2: Identify how the AI and VR-based teaching approach supports students’ and teachers’ development of language competence.
- O3: To develop best practices and guidelines for the effective integration of AI-enhanced VR technology into language education.
- O4: To provide policy recommendations for educational institutions, policymakers, and government agencies regarding the implementation of AI-enhanced VR technology in education and teacher training.
