Her research interests span quantum information theory, quantum communications for space, quantum protocols<\/strong> for secure space systems and networks, post-quantum cryptography and network synchronization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. \u00c1ngeles V\u00e1zquez-Castro<\/strong> is with the Department of Telecommunications and Systems Engineering, Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB)<\/strong>, where she leads the research group on Quantum Space Networks<\/strong>, with projects primarily funded by the European Space Agency (ESA)<\/strong> and European Union.<\/strong> From 2002 to 2004, she was a Research Fellow at the European Space Agency<\/strong> in Noordwijk (The Netherlands), and has held visiting and invited professorships at the University of Southern California (USC)<\/strong>, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)<\/strong>, University of Oslo (uiO)<\/strong>, and the University of Houston (UH)<\/strong>. Her contributions span both research and contributions to international standards of space communications and networking. She has authored more than 160 peer-reviewed papers<\/strong>, 13 book chapters<\/strong>, one edited book<\/strong>, and two patents<\/strong> (one classical, one quantum). She is a founding member<\/strong> of the ESA-funded SatNEx network of European satellite communications experts<\/strong> and served as General Chair of the 2025 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics<\/strong> (AIAA) Satellite Communications Conference<\/strong> held in Barcelona.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
