The Molecular Microbiology Group at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is a highly dynamic and multidisciplinary team with a solid expertise in experimental and computational methods to study the molecular and evolutionary mechanisms of prokaryotes underpinning microbial adaptation, virulence and resistance.

Our goal is to combine molecular and computational methods to unravel, model and understand the molecular and evolutionary processes that drive virulence and resistance in both bacteria and bacteriophages, with the aim of generating novel antibacterial strategies in applications ranging from alternative clinical therapies to enhanced food production.
