The international event was possible through the <strong>ENABLE<\/strong> (<strong>E<\/strong>uropea<strong>n A<\/strong>cademy for\u00a0<strong>B<\/strong>iomedica<strong>l<\/strong>\u00a0Scienc<strong>e<\/strong>) initiative, part of the European Union <strong>Horizon 2020<\/strong>, for young researchers in Life Sciences. It was a very successful initiative with more than 250 participants of 26 different countries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.quintanalab.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Enable1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-768 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.quintanalab.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Enable1-300x241.png\" alt=\"Enable1\" width=\"300\" height=\"241\" srcset=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/mitochondrial-neuropatology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/617\/2017\/11\/Enable1-300x241.png 300w, https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/mitochondrial-neuropatology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/617\/2017\/11\/Enable1.png 658w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 3-day symposium was (amazingly!!) organized by PhD students and Postdocs from four European centers, and was aimed at promoting <strong>excellence<\/strong> in the <strong>Biomedical Sciences in Europe <\/strong>as well as at fostering<strong> collaborations with industry<\/strong> and <strong>engagement\u00a0with society<\/strong>.\u00a0In addition to the <strong>outstanding scientific lectures<\/strong>, we could benefit from the top-level <strong>Masterclasses<\/strong> given by established researchers as well as the informal <strong>Career Chats<\/strong> with professionals, to learn about different career paths outside the bench.
