El grup investiga processos com l\u2019estr\u00e8s oxidatiu, el dany a l\u2019ADN, les alteracions epigen\u00e8tiques i transcript\u00f2miques, aix\u00ed com la transformaci\u00f3 cel\u00b7lular associada a exposicions agudes i cr\u00f2niques. Aquesta l\u00ednia inclou l\u2019an\u00e0lisi de mostres biol\u00f2giques humanes \u2014com sang, orina, femta o mostres respirat\u00f2ries\u2014 amb l\u2019objectiu de determinar nivells d\u2019exposici\u00f3 interna i identificar possibles efectes biol\u00f2gics preco\u00e7os. Mitjan\u00e7ant aproximacions multi\u00f2miques (gen\u00f2mica, transcript\u00f2mica, epigen\u00f2mica, metabol\u00f2mica i prote\u00f2mica), el grup investiga signatures moleculars capaces de predir alteracions biol\u00f2giques primerenques, processos inflamatoris, immunotoxicitat o efectes a llarg termini. Aquesta l\u00ednia inclou sistemes in vitro basats en barreres epitelials complexes pulmonars i gastrointestinals, models ex vivo utilitzant sang humana i models<em>in vivo<\/em> alternatius com\u00a0<em>Drosophila melanogaster<\/em>. El grup estudia com aquests contaminants poden induir disbiosi, alterar la composici\u00f3 microbiana intestinal i afectar processos relacionats amb la inflamaci\u00f3, la immunitat o el metabolisme. Aquesta l\u00ednia inclou la producci\u00f3 de diferents tipus de pol\u00edmers, aix\u00ed com la seva caracteritzaci\u00f3 fisicoqu\u00edmica detallada en termes de mida, forma, c\u00e0rrega superficial, composici\u00f3 i pres\u00e8ncia d\u2019additius o contaminants associats.
