I joined the UAB in 2024 as \u201cBeatriz Galindo Distinguished Senior Researcher<\/strong>\u201c, a 4-year research fellowship granted by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, as part of its Talent Attraction programme. At the UAB, I established the research group FEMINTRA<\/a> and serve as its Principal Investigator. On top of research, my role also involves teaching on the MA in Translation and Intercultural Studies<\/a> (MUTEI) and BA Translation and Interpreting<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I am also Reader in Translation and Transcultural Studies <\/strong>in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, University of Warwick, UK (on leave, 2024-2027).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am corresonding member of the Real Academia Galega<\/strong> (since 2017).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previous Positions and Education<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I read Journalism at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela<\/strong> (1998-2002) and Translation and Interpreting Studies at the Universidade de Vigo<\/strong> (2002-2004). After completing my Diploma of Advanced Studies (MRes) in Translation and Paratranslation in 2007, and receiving my PhD in Translation Studies from the Universidade de Vigo<\/a> in 2010 (Sobresaliente cum laude, International Doctorate Mention<\/em> and Extraordinary Doctorate Prize<\/em> for the best thesis in the humanities), my postdoctoral career took place entirely in the UK until December 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I held positions as Teaching Fellow in Translation at the\u00a0University of Exeter<\/strong>\u00a0(2010-11) and Lecturer in Translation Studies and Spanish at\u00a0Aston University<\/strong>\u00a0(2011-2019), where I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Practice in Higher Education in 2014. At Aston, I was Head of Translation Studies, Director of Taught Postgraduate Programmes in Translation Studies and Chair of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee in the School of Languages and Social Sciences. I joined the\u00a0University of Warwick<\/strong>\u00a0as Assistant Professor in Translation and Transcultural Studies in 2019. I was promoted to Associate Professor in in 2020, and eventually to Reader in 2023. At Warwick, I served as Deputy Director of Graduate Studies (PG Taught Programmes) at the School of Modern Languages and Cultures and was also programme director of the\u00a0MA Translation and Cultures<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research Stays<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I have completed four research stays. As a PhD student, I was visiting researcher at Sheffield Hallam University<\/strong>, under the supervision of Professor Sara Mills (2007); and at Universitat de Vic<\/strong>, under the supervision of Professor Pilar Godayol (2008). As an early career postdoc, I was associate researcher at Karl-Franzens-Universit\u00e4t Graz<\/strong>, under the supervision of Dr Michaela Wolf (2012). More recently, I completed a 3-month research stay at the Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Ferrara<\/strong>, working with Professor Eleonora Federici (2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professional Accreditations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I am Fellow of the Higher Education Academy<\/strong> in the UK since 2014. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Spain, I received a positive evaluation as \u201cContratada Doctora” by ANECA<\/strong> in 2011 and as “Profesora Titular\u201d by ANECA<\/strong> in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December 2024, I was granted 2 six-year research periods \u201csexenios\u201d<\/strong> (2008-2013, 2015-2020) by the Catalan Quality Assurance Agency (AQU). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In March 2026, I obtained the R3 Certificate <\/strong>from the Spanish Research Agency (AEI), recognising my status as an Established Researcher according to the European Framework for Research Careers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
