His thesis was developed at the Optics group and was focused on photonic waveguides. The main aims of the thesis were (i) to design eficient photonic devices by combinin optical waveguides with techniques from other fields, and (ii) implement and study various topological models in photonic ring resonators, and waveguides guiding orbital angular momentum modes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently he is a postdoctoral researcher at the group, where he continues some of these research lines. He, along with other group members, is also collaborating with the <a href=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/giq\/\">Quantum Information group<\/a>, to explore applications of topology and structured light in quantum communications.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. David Viedma obtained his PhD degree in Physics at the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona in 2024.
