Dr. Neus Vidal Barrantes (note: “Barrantes-Vidal” in publications)
Professor of Clinical Psychology
Dr. Barrantes-Vidal combined research and clinical training. She obtained a PhD (Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award) in Psychology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and conducted a MSc on Assessment and Treatment in Clinical Psychology at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona (Universitat de Barcelona), becoming a Licensed Specialist in Clinical Psychology. She was a visiting predoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford (UK) with Prof. Gordon Claridge.
She is Full Professor at the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology of UAB, where she coordinates the Research Group “Person-Environment Interaction in Risk and Resilience in Mental Health” funded by the Catalan Government (SGR). She has led research projects funded by the Spanish and Catalan governments and participated in internationally funded projects. She is member of several international research consortiums, the Spanish Biomedical Research Network on Mental Health (CIBERSAM) funded by the Spanish and The Innovation Network of New Technologies in Mental Health (TECSAM).
She held an Adjunct Associate Professorship at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (US). She has been awarded by the Institució Catalana de Recerca i Estudis Avançats (ICREA) with a Distinguished Research Award on two occasions (2012, 2022). Finally, she has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Spanish Agency for the Assessment of Scientific Research and has served as a research consultant for mental health centers.
