In 2002, after finishing her PhD in Physics at the UAB under the supervision of Prof. R. Corbalán, she moved as a Marie Curie Fellow for two years to the Leibniz Universität, Hannover (Germany) and from 2005 to 2010, she was ICREA researcher. In the last years, she has worked in the control of the external degrees of freedom of matter waves and in the use of ultracold atoms in optical lattices as quantum simulators. She has 62 peer-reviewed publications with more than 2600 citations and is co-author with Prof. M. Lewenstein and Prof. A. Sanpera of the book Ultracold atoms in optical lattices: simulating quantum many body physics, Oxford University Press 2012. She has supervised 4 PhD Thesis (presently supervising 3 more), 10 Master Thesis and 23 final degree works (3 more under elaboration). She has been awarded with the PhD extraordinary award and the excellence research award of the UAB.
