{"id":76,"date":"2023-04-25T12:16:36","date_gmt":"2023-04-25T10:16:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/redsea11\/?page_id=76"},"modified":"2024-05-28T18:10:39","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T16:10:39","slug":"about-the-red-sea-conference-xi","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/redsea11\/about-the-red-sea-conference-xi\/","title":{"rendered":"ABOUT THE RED SEA CONFERENCE XI"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-negre-eben-color has-verd-tropic-background-color has-text-color has-background has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>FROM LOCAL TO GLOBAL \u2013 The role of local communities throughout the Red Sea history<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-verd-tropic-transparent-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">Taking place the 5-7th of June 2024, Barcelona &#8211; Spain<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">The XIth Red Sea Conference will be held between the 5th and the 7th of June of 2024 in Barcelona, being hosted by the&nbsp;<em>Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona<\/em>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<em>Centro Superior de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas&nbsp;<\/em>(https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/redsea11\/). Both institutions will be represented by consolidated research projects that have as their main goal the study of the Red Sea in different cultural, chronological, and geographic frames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">This event follows the lead of the previous Red Sea Project conferences, that since 2002 have become the main international forum for the study of the Red Sea as a geographical and historical unit from a broad chronological perspective. Different institutions have hosted the conference since then: the British Museum, the University of Southampton, the University of Exeter, the University of Tabuk, the&nbsp;<em>Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Napoli l&#8217;Orientale<\/em>, the University of Warsaw, the&nbsp;<em>Maison de l\u2019Orient et de la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e<\/em>, and the University of Crete.
