{"id":130,"date":"2025-07-09T10:53:40","date_gmt":"2025-07-09T08:53:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/satnexschool\/?page_id=130"},"modified":"2025-07-31T09:29:06","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T07:29:06","slug":"description","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/satnexschool\/description\/","title":{"rendered":"Description"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">The EURASIP <strong>Satellite Network <\/strong>of Experts<strong> <\/strong>School is designed for<strong> early-stage researchers and industry professionals,<\/strong> including PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, who are interested in exploring <strong>the latest advancements in satellite and space communications. <\/strong>It combines lectures from leading academics and industry experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Taking place from <strong>September 22nd to 23rd, 2025<\/strong>, at the <strong>UAB UNESCO campus <\/strong>facilities, in the centre of Barcelona (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uab.cat\/web\/history-1345876239311.html\">Casa Convalesc\u00e8ncia<\/a><\/strong>) , the SatNEx School is co-located with the<strong> AIAA<a href=\"https:\/\/2025.icssc.space\/\"> International Conference of Satellite Systems Communications (ICSSC 2025<\/a>), which takes place from 23<sup>rd<\/sup> to 25<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-negre-eben-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-43a081938852dbed17d9901fc3524996\"><strong>Day 1 of the School 2025<\/strong> features a remarkable lineup of visionary leaders shaping the future of space. Kicking off the day is <strong>Holly Ridings<\/strong>, NASA\u2019s former Chief Flight Director and now Director of Exploration Operations, offering inspiring insights from the heart of human spaceflight. She is followed by <strong>Dr. Oana-Alexandra Graur<\/strong> of ESA, whose whose work in space security standardization supports the development of interoperable and federated missions across agencies and platforms. and platforms. <strong>Prof. Gunes Karabulut-Kurt<\/strong> (Polytechnique Montr\u00e9al) then explores the dual challenge of wireless communications and power transfer on the lunar surface\u2014bridging strategic vision with cutting-edge technical insight.communications and power transfer on the lunar surface.  <strong>The afternoon shifts <\/strong>further into deep technical innovation: <strong>Prof. Zhu Han<\/strong> (University of Houston), a globally recognized authority in next-generation wireless systems, introduces the emerging paradigm of generative semantic communication; and <strong>Prof. Eva Lagunas<\/strong> (University of Luxembourg) concludes the day with a forward-looking lecture on non-terrestrial networks in the 6G era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-negre-eben-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-efab7de8a841f9fb4eb5a5bd7fb774d2\"><strong>The second day <\/strong>is a joint session with the collocated Colloquium of the <a href=\"https:\/\/2025.icssc.space\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/2025.icssc.space\/\">ICSSC 2025<\/a>.
