Jaume Cunill-Subiranas

He graduated in Physics and Chemistry in 2021 and completed a master’s degree in Advanced Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in 2022, where he specialized in nanomaterials, at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). In 2018 he won the gold medal at the international University Physics Competition, where he had already won the bronze medal the year before. He also achieved the first position in the Spanish preliminaries of the PLANCKS 2021, a respected international competition in theoretical physics. In 2022 he started a PhD in Physics in the SiMMaS group and he received a Joan Oró grant (FI 2023) from the Generalitat de Catalunya.

His research topics have been the theoretical study and modeling of magnetic systems with metamaterials, ferromagnetic materials, and superconductors. Using analytical calculations and numerical simulations, he physically studies topics such as magnetic concentrators, physics applications of zero-magnetic-permeability media, and levitation of superconductors, among others.
