Panel of Experts: Sports is Political and Feminine. Research Symposium
[Bellaterra, Campus UAB, 13/11/2025] The session, to be held on December 1, 2025, at the IRE headquarters, will also include a virtual format and will be structured into three main sections. The first will feature the welcome and project introduction, presented by the Sports Research Institute (IRE) Director, Emilio Fernández Peña, and the project’s Principal Investigator, Anna Tous Rovirosa. The second section will consist of interventions and a roundtable discussion, with contributions from Esther Olló (Institut Barcelona Esports, Barcelona City Council); Jennifer Seefoo (The Change Congress); Marina Ponsa and Mar Mas (AMDP, Women in Sport); and Llorenç Mejino, television series critic
(Diario Vasco, Serializados). The final part will feature presentations by Professors Stephen Glynn (De Montfort University, UK) and Melanie Williams (University of East Anglia, UK), respectively addressing the representation of female boxers and female footballers in British audiovisual media. The event will conclude with the closing remarks delivered by Professor and project member Elena Neira (UOC). Attendance requires prior registration (https://forms.office.com/e/ThzvDUJ4uG).
