With over 30 years of professional experience, I currently combine scientific research with teaching tectonics and field geology courses at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (undergraduate and Master level). My research focuses on Structural Geology and Tectonics, with emphasis on interdisciplinary links with Sedimentary Geology, Geomorphology, and Geophysics. The main research themes can be summarized as follows:
– Structure and tectonosedimentary evolution of fold-and-thrust belts and foreland basins
– Salt tectonics in extension and in tectonic inversion
– Crustal/lithospheric structure and development of topography and relief in mountain ranges
– Structure of deformed belts for hydrocarbon exploration
– Field cases of the Pyrenees, Atlas Mountains, Northern Andes.
