I am an Electrical and Computer Engineer from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, with an interdisciplinary MSc in Neuroscience from the University of Crete.
My early work connected technology and brain function, including projects on Alzheimer’s prevention and applications to support healthy aging and mental health. Over time, my interest in human behaviour led me to pursue a neuroscience master’s program.
For my thesis, I investigated how attention shapes neuronal processing across different brain regions, and also developed biophysical models of fear conditioning and memory. This work sparked my interest in how higher-order brain regions, such as the prefrontal and parietal cortices, handle information, and how disruptions in this process are linked to mood and thought disorders.
For my PhD, I will study working memory decline during aging under the supervision of Dr. Klaus Wimmer, using computational modelling and neuronal analysis to uncover higher-order coding principles and their disruption in cognitive dysfunction.
