I hold an MSc in Biostatistics and Demography (Gold Medallist) from the International Institute for Population Sciences in Mumbai, and a BSc in Statistics from Banaras Hindu University. Throughout my academic career, I have worked on research projects with UNICEF, Seoul National University, and the M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, where I explored issues related to demographic dynamics, population ageing, climate vulnerability, and population health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the TOUCH programme at UAB, I am affiliated with the Centre d\u2019Estudis Demogr\u00e0fics. My PhD research will examine how mental health conditions influence longevity and overall well-being among older adults. By integrating demographic modelling and social and economic perspectives, I aim to uncover pathways through which mental health disparities shape health and mortality outcomes in ageing populations, ultimately contributing to evidence-based policies for healthier and more equitable ageing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am a demographer and statistician from India with research interests in population ageing, health inequalities, and health economics.
