Dr. Bestu\u00e9 holds a degree in Law (Universitat de Barcelona), a Diploma in Comparative Law (Institute of Comparative Law in Paris, Universit\u00e9 Paris II , Panth\u00e9on- Assas) and a PhD in Translation Theory (Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona). Her doctoral thesis, Las traducciones con efectos jur\u00eddicos: estudio de la traducci\u00f3n instrumental de las licencias de ordenador<\/em>, received a special award and laid the research foundation for this project. She previously worked as an independent lawyer for several years and as a legal translator in countries like Spain, Mexico and the United States, where she lived for several years. She is currently professor of legal translation in the Faculty of Translation and Interpretation at UAB where she also coordinates a Graduate Diploma in Legal Translation. She has published several articles on legal translation. Her research interests focus on legal translation and ICT as well as in improving the situation of interpretation in public services. In 2013 she published the book Los contratos traducidos. La traducci\u00f3n de los contratos de licencia de uso de programas de ordenador<\/em> (Tirant Lo Blanch. Col. Professor in the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Granada. Dr. Mayoral is certified as a sworn interpreter of English by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has taught classes on legal translation in seminars and in bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s, postgraduate and PhD programmes at universities in Spain (UGR, ULPGC, UNIA, UVA, URV, UAB, UJI, UMA, US and UVigo), Argentina (UBA and UNC), etc. He directs theses and projects for the Advanced Studies Diploma in Legal Translation. As the author of the book Translating Official Documents<\/em> (St. Jerome), Dr. Mayoral is one of the most widely cited authors in the field of legal translation. He has written more than a hundred articles alone and in collaboration with other scholars. He has been an invited speaker at more than 20 scientific conferences and has given more than 20 lectures on legal translation in Spain and abroad. He is a member of Lextra.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Dr. Orozco graduated in Translation and Interpretation from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) and won a special award for her PhD entitled  Instrumentos de medida de la adquisici\u00f3n de la competencia traductora: construcci\u00f3n y validaci\u00f3n<\/em>. She teaches general translation, specialized translation and translation methodology at the Faculty of Translation and Interpretation at the UAB. He has directed doctoral theses that are directly related to this project, including those of Bestu\u00e9 (see above) and S\u00e1nchez- Gij\u00f3n on using corpus linguistics as a resource for specialized translation. She has written numerous articles and book chapters as well as the monograph Metodolog\u00eda de la traducci\u00f3n directa del ingl\u00e9s al espa\u00f1ol<\/em>. Fernando PRIETO RAMOS is Professor of Translation at the Faculty of Translation and Interpretation, University of Geneva, where he teaches in postgraduate courses. He co-directs the Department of Translation Studies and the Center for Legal and Institutional Translation (Transius). He holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting from University of Granada (with First National Prize for Translation Studies) and a PhD in Applied Linguistics from Dublin City University, where he worked as a teacher and researcher at the Centre for Translation and Textual Studies for several years. He also studied Law and he is a sworn translator. He has worked as a staff translator at the World Trade Organization and as a freelance translator for other national and international organizations. He has authored several publications on legal translation, corporate translation and critical discourse analysis. Among the awards obtained throughout his career, it is worth mentioning the European Language Label for innovative projects in language teaching and learning (European Commission) and being selected for the Ram\u00f3n y Cajal program of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

She has participated in numerous research projects and has published important works on translation and technologies.
