Gian Maria Greco (MA and PhD in Philosophy; International MA in Accessibility to Media, Arts and Culture) was Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow at the TransMedia Catalonia Research Group. Under Pilar Orero’s supervision, he directed the project “Understanding Media Accessibility Quality” (UMAQ – 2017-2019).
His research focuses on the theoretical foundations of accessibility as well as on accessibility and: human rights, the media, and the performing arts. He has held various university positions and was Junior Research Associate at the University of Oxford (UK) from 2003 to 2007.
He works as a consultant on accessibility planning for public bodies and private organisations. He co-authored the book “Accessibility, Health and Safety of Live Events and Venues” (2015, in Italian). He is a founding member of the Media Accessibility Platform (www.mapaccess.org).
