{"id":168,"date":"2014-06-27T20:21:23","date_gmt":"2014-06-27T18:21:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/transmedia\/knowledge-transfer\/"},"modified":"2025-02-10T17:00:02","modified_gmt":"2025-02-10T15:00:02","slug":"knowledge-transfer","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/transmedia\/knowledge-transfer\/","title":{"rendered":"Knowledge transfer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>TransMedia Catalonia members participate actively in various knowledge transfer activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GAAD \u2013 Global Accessibility Awareness Day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"698\" height=\"354\" src=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/transmedia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/282\/2018\/05\/tm-gaad_copy.png\" alt=\"TransMedia Catalonia logo next to the GAAD logo\" class=\"wp-image-261\" srcset=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/transmedia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/282\/2018\/05\/tm-gaad_copy.png 698w, https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/transmedia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/282\/2018\/05\/tm-gaad_copy-300x152.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 698px) 100vw, 698px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><u><a href=\"https:\/\/globalaccessibilityawarenessday.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)<\/a><\/u> is an event that is celebrated every year around the world and aims to raise&nbsp;awareness about&nbsp;the importance of digital accessibility in an increasingly diverse and inclusive society, leaving no one behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <u><a href=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/transmedia\/gaad-2019\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"307\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GAAD&nbsp;2019<\/a><\/u>, the TransMedia Catalonia opened the doors of its laboratory to the&nbsp;public to demonstrate the different accessibility services and modalities in which the group works. In <u><a href=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/transmedia\/gaad-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GAAD&nbsp;2020,<\/a><\/u> the research group contributed online in the form of&nbsp;a playlist of accessible videos explaining the group&#8217;s various projects with integrated audio description and captions. In <u><a href=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/transmedia\/gaad-2021\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"359\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GAAD&nbsp;2021<\/a><\/u>, we offered an immersive accessibility showcase and launched the stable version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/mapaccess.uab.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>MAP platform<\/u><\/a>. In <a href=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/transmedia\/gaad-2022\/\">GAAD 2022<\/a>, we offered three activities: we opened our lab, we launched new accessibility courses, and welcomed more than 60 children to the university for an accessibility-related activity. In <a href=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/transmedia\/gaad-2023\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/transmedia\/gaad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GAAD 2023<\/a>, an online seminar on digital accessibility and sustainability was hosted, alongside the introduction of Xarxa AccessCat (Xarxa d&#8217;Innovaci\u00f3 en Accessibilitat de Catalunya: Mitjans, Educaci\u00f3 i Cultura), a network aiming to connect universities, companies, and society as a reference point for accessibility in Catalonia. In <a href=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/transmedia\/gaad-2024\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/transmedia\/gaad-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GAAD 2024<\/a>, we offered five activities: a workshop for staff from the Government of Catalonia\u2019s departments and public sector organisations, a webinar called \u201cEnsuring an Inclusive &amp; Accessible Green Transition\u201d, a talk on AI and human creativity delivered by Fernanda Rocha and Jon Black, an internal meeting with the AccessCat Network, and a showcase with students who participated in the CROMA project (FAS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Standardisation committees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>TransMedia Catalonia conducts standardisation work in the following national and international agencies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Intersector Rapporteur Group Audiovisual Media Accessibility (<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.itu.int\/en\/irg\/ava\/Pages\/default.aspx\"><strong>IRG-AVA<\/strong><\/a><strong>)<\/strong>.
