Andrea Casta\u00f1eda Alennikova<\/strong> holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in Translation and Interpreting and a master\u2019s degree in Audiovisual Translation from the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (UAB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is currently a predoctoral researcher in the Department of Translation and <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Interpreting and East Asian Studies at the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (UAB), working on the BEYOND BARRIERS project, which promotes inclusivity and equity in research careers for underrepresented and marginalised researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reyhaneh Sohrabi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reyhaneh Sohrabi<\/strong> holds a BSc in English Language Teaching and an MSc in Language Technologies and Digital Humanities from the University of Turin, Italy, where she specialised in computational linguistics and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
She is currently a PhD candidate and NLP researcher at the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (UAB). <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Her research lies at the intersection of speech recognition, large language models, and ethical AI, with a particular focus on evaluating how language technologies perform across different languages and speaker populations. Her work explores multilingual NLP, Persian language technologies, accented and impaired speech, and the development of more inclusive and reliable AI systems.
Before joining UAB, she worked as a language teacher for several years while also conducting research in NLP and computational linguistics. Her background in both language teaching and language technology has shaped her interest in understanding how linguistic diversity can be better represented in modern AI systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Azadeh Shojaei<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Azadeh Shojaei<\/strong> holds a BSc in Architectural Engineering, an MSc in Post-Disaster Reconstruction from Shahid Beheshti University (SBU), and an MSc in Urban Resilience for Sustainable Transitions from the International University of Catalonia (UIC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is currently a predoctoral researcher at the Department of Translation and Interpreting and East Asian Studies at the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (UAB), where she works on the SPICE (Sustainable Public Spaces through Inclusive Community Engagement) project. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Her research focuses on translating community needs and lived experiences into accessible knowledge for stakeholders and policymakers. Before joining UAB, she worked as an architect and post-disaster reconstruction specialist, collaborating with disaster-affected communities and public institutions on participatory recovery and resilience processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mario Cuitavi Mart\u00edn<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mario Cuitavi Mart\u00edn <\/strong>holds a BA in Translation and Interlinguistic Mediation from the University of Val\u00e8ncia (UV), where he also studied a master\u2019s degree in Creative and Humanistic Translation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is currently a predoctoral researcher at the Department of Translation and <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Interpreting and East Asian Studies at the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (UAB), and works on easy language in the media. His research is linked to the ENACT (Easy-to-understand News for Collaborative Transformation) project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before joining UAB, he worked as a translator and subtitler for the Audio & Podcast Unit at the European Parliament as a Schuman trainee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
