I conduct my research at the Logistics and Aeronautics Unit of the Department of Telecommunications and Systems Engineering, focusing on applied modeling, simulation, and optimization methods that address real industrial and societal challenges.

My work targets complex logistical systems where improved decision-making can enhance operational efficiency, competitiveness, safety, and sustainability, delivering solutions with direct impact on industry and public services.

My research has resulted in both scientific contributions and operational solutions adopted in real industrial and institutional contexts. On the scientific side, I have published extensively in international journals and conferences in the areas of transportation systems, optimisation, simulation, and air traffic management, contributing novel models for scheduling, conflict resolution, and system performance assessment.

From an applied perspective, my work has produced decision-support tools combining optimisation algorithms and causal analysis, successfully deployed in sectors such as airport operations, air traffic management, healthcare logistics, and emergency services. Several of these results could not be fully disseminated due to industrial confidentiality, but their impact has been validated by industrial partners and public institutions.

My research outcomes include award-winning papers, a granted European patent, registered software assets, and the supervision of multiple doctoral theses addressing real-world optimization and simulation problems.
