The final event of the WIRE project took place at the Museu d\u2019Hist\u00f2ria de Catalunya<\/a> in Barcelona, marking the culmination of a two-year journey dedicated to exploring and preserving the memory of women’s resistance in Europe. This event brought together representatives from various partner organizations, including the Autonomous University of Barcelona<\/a> (UAB), Memorial Democr\u00e0tic<\/a> (MEMO), Villa Decius Association<\/a> (VDA), Scuola di Pace di Monte Sole<\/a> (Monte Sole), and Contemporary Social History Archives<\/a> (ASKI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event began with an open debate titled “Spotlight the Memory of Women in Resistance.<\/strong>” Representatives from the partner organizations shared their efforts to raise awareness about the role of women in resistance movements across Europe, their memory, and the values associated with these historical narratives. This session provided a platform for discussing the diverse ways in which these stories have been preserved and highlighted the importance of continuing this work. The public was invited to participate in the debate, offering suggestions for further disseminating this knowledge through artistic, cultural, and extracurricular activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the debate, there was the presentation of the Repository of life stories<\/strong><\/a> of women who participated in resistance movements, by Manos Avgeridis, from ASKI. La Tempesta<\/a> presented the Online Exhibition<\/strong><\/a>, which gathers all the materials and projects created as part of the Memory Route<\/a> activities and local events. The exhibition includes podcasts, narrative game scenarios, pedagogical dossier, life stories book summaries, the Memory Route, academic articles, and the theatrical play. This comprehensive collection serves as a valuable resource for educators, researchers, and the general public, ensuring that these important stories are accessible to a wide audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event concluded with a farewell address by professor Javier Rodrigo, from UAB, principal investigator of the WIRE project. He reflected on the project’s achievements and the impact of the Memory Route on participants and audiences alike. The farewell marked the end of a significant chapter in the WIRE project, but also the beginning of ongoing efforts to preserve and promote the memory of women’s resistance in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
