CORRECTIVE PHONETICS AND ORAL LANGUAGE TEACHING

The C.I.P.A. (Centre International de Phonétique Appliquée de Mons, Belgium) is organising, in collaboration with the University of Mons (Institut des Sciences du Langage and Laboratoire de Phonétique) and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Facultat de Lletres and Institut de Ciències de l’Educació) on the Bellaterra University Campus (Barcelona), A TRAINING COURSE ON THE VERBO-TONAL METHOD OF CORRECTIVE PHONETICS AND ORAL LANGUAGE TEACHING for teachers of English, Catalan, Spanish and/or French as foreign or second languages.

Dates: 2-7 July 2012 Duration: 30 hours of face-to-face tuition

Goals: To train teachers of French, English, Spanish and/or Catalan to apply the Verbo-Tonale method in the teaching and learning of foreign or second languages.

Certification: All participants will receive

  • a certificate of attendance awarded by the Centre International de Phonétique Appliquée
  • a certificate of attendance and participation in the course awarded by the Institut de Ciències de l’Educació of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona; the course is approved as an Activitat de formació permanent del professorat by the Departament d’Ensenyament de la Generalitat de Catalunya.

Registration fees:

  • Payment before 15 May 2012: €250 (including lunch)
  • Payment in two instalments: 300 € (including lunch) = 1st instalment before 15 May: 150 € + 2nd instalment before 20 June 2012: 150 €.
  • Students and unemployed workers: €200 (possibility of grants)

Accommodation :

Possibility of accommodation in flats for two people on campus, at the Vila Universitària de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Bellaterra (Barcelona), from €210 / person for the whole week).

As the number of participants is limited, applications will be accepted in the order in which they are presented on the attached pre-registration form, which can be sent (without payment of a deposit) from 15 March 2012 to CIPA (in Mons or Barcelona), either by e-mail or by post.
