CYBERLUNG is a Cyber-Physical Bronchoscopy Navigation System for Lung Cancer Biopsy.
Bronchoscopy examinations are a non-radiating modality that allow minimally invasive pulmonary procedures and, thus, have become the diagnostic cornerstone for lung cancer. In order to guide physicians in the operating room it offers positional and rotational information obtained from a hybrid combination of inputs.
CYBERLUNG is a complete navigation that includes video-bronchoscopy planning and intra-operative guidance. CYBERLUNG VB planner generates a set of instructions at each bronchial level that codify the path to the lesion and can be exported as a visual mosaic of the route.
The main goal of the project is based on developing a new non-radiation bronchoscopic navigation system able to provide instructions to guide clinicians through the airway tree to reach the nodule in real time by increasing the readiness level (TRL) from 4 to around 7. CYBERLUNG modules have been independently tested under an experimental environment. So, under this call, it is pretended to reach a TRL around 7 and reaching demonstration in a relevant environment.

This project has been co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
