Microwave Circuits and Smart Systems for Technological Innovation
CIMITEC is a pioneering Group on the applications of Metamaterials (and other structures) to the development of high performance and low cost RF/microwave circuits, reducing their dimensions and/or including new functionalities. combines both basic and applied research. We explore new concepts, ideas and structures, in order to apply them to the industry needs, allowing us to optimize systems and meet new needs in areas such as telecommunications, industrial systems, “Internet of Things” or health, among others.
Work areas
Sensors
Development of sensors based on RF/microwave circuits, with high sensitivity
Applications in material characterization, composition determination or defect detection, among others
Antennas and RFID
Development of chipless radio frequency identification systems (Chipless-RFID)
Low-cost, high-bit-count labels for identification, logistics and Smart Packaging applications.
