Marc Parés is Professor of Geography at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB Geography Department) and head of the Research Group on Urban Governance, Commons, Internet & Social innovation (URGOCIS) at the Institute for Government and Public Policy (IGOP). Holds a PhD in Environmental Science and a degree in both Environmental Sciences and Political Sciences (UAB). From 2014 to 2016 he held a Marie Curie Fellowship and was a Visiting Scholar at the NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service (USA) and the KU Leuven Planning and Development Unit (Belgium). He has been postdoctoral visiting fellow at the University of Manchester (2007-2009) and the University of Sussex (2003). His fields of research are urban governance, citizen participation, social innovation and political ecology.
