The idea of the group is that their research should have practical significance, and the results of their research have been destined to collaborate with the following projects:
Cid, J.; Andrés-Pueyo, A. (2017). Guia de Recursos per a persones que surten de presó. A través del proyecto de investigación “De la prisión a la comunidad”. https://ddd.uab.cat/record/183005
This research project developed between 2015 and 2018, in which two members of the current team participated: Josep Cid (Main Researcher) and Esther De la Encarnación (Research Assistant), was aimed at implementing a project of citizen participation in reintegration, based on a mentoring programme for incarcerated people. This publication contains the material used in the project “From prison to the community” through a list of public resources available to meet the needs of people leaving prison. The guide is structured by areas of need: home, health, training and job placement, benefits and subsidies, citizenship, family, legal assistance, and links with the community.
Programa Compartim de Gestió del Coneixement del Departament de Justícia. (2017). Programa de Preparació per a la vida en llibertat. Programa Compartim. Barcelona: Centre d’Estudis Jurídics i Formació Especialitzada/Comunitat d’Educadors de Centres Penitenciaris.
One of the main results of the research on desistance that has been carried out since 2008 is that the development of a desistance narrative is essential for the person to abandon a criminal career. This desistance narrative is based on constructing a different identity from the one the person had when they developed their criminal career, on the firm conviction to end their criminal life and on having a strategy to carry out this plan. In this publication, the Community of Practice (CoP) of social educators from penitentiary centers was accompanied and advised on the definition of the theoretical framework underpinning this programme for the preparation of life at liberty: pp. 6-15.
