Scientific-Practical Conference on Reintegration.
On June 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, the Scientific-Practical Conference on Reintegration was held, organized by the Research Group on Crime Desistance and Reintegration Policies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the General Direction of Penitentiary Affairs (Government of Catalonia), the Center for Justice and Society at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and the FIADYS Foundation.
On the first day, the event was held at the Palau Macaya in Barcelona, the head office of La Caixa, and the second and third days at the Faculty of Law of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, concluding with a closed-door meeting between FIADYS and prison authorities to reflect on the challenges facing our reintegration system.
The first photo was taken on June 1st at the Palau Macaya and shows the speakers and moderators of the roundtable discussions that took place.
The next three photos are from two presentations held on June 2nd in the Aula Magna at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Participation in the Research Session “Acompanyament al sortir de la presó” (Support upon Leaving Prison).
On October 2nd, the Research Session “Acompanyament al sortir de la presó” (Support upon Leaving Prison) was held at the Centre for Legal Studies and Specialized Training (CEJFE), featuring the presentation of two research projects on the subject. One of the studies presented was The Role of Families in the Reintegration of People Leaving Prison, conducted by two researchers from this group: Aina Ibàñez i Roig, research technician, and Albert Pedrosa, predoctoral researcher.

Researcher Albert Pedrosa awarded at the 12th Spanish Congress of Criminology
Albert Pedrosa won the 2018 SEIC Award for Early-Career Researchers for his work titled “Who do we leave behind? Exploring obstacles to prison progression.” In this edition, a second project by Asier Moneva (CRÍMINA Center, Miguel Hernández University) was also awarded.
Carmen Navarro participates in the First Feminist Seminar at the University of Girona
On May 16, 2018, Dr. Carmen Navarro, a researcher from the group, participated in the I Feminist Seminar organized by the Criminal Sciences and Criminology Seminar research group (University of Girona). She presented the paper: “The execution of prison sentences: peculiarities of female criminal execution.”
Josep Cid participates in the 6th Annual Meeting – Working Group on Prison Life and the Effects of Imprisonment
On April 12 and 13, 2018, Dr. Josep Cid, coordinator of the research group, participated in the annual meeting of the “Working Group on Prison Life and the Effects of Imprisonment,” which is part of the European Society of Criminology.
During the event, he presented the paper “Serving the full sentence: Contrasting qualitative and quantitative data,” based on a collaborative study conducted with Albert Pedrosa and Aina Ibàñez.

Carmen Navarro participates in the IAIC-Málaga Permanent Criminological Research Seminar
On January 25, 2018, Dr. Carmen Navarro was the guest speaker at the “Permanent Criminological Research Seminar” (organized by the IAIC-Málaga) to present “The exercise of motherhood in Spanish prisons.”
Josep Cid participates in the Seminar: The Value of Social Intervention in the Criminal Process
On January 25, 2018, Dr. Josep Cid, coordinator of the research group, participated in the Seminar: The Value of Intervention in the Criminal Process held in Madrid, Spain. The event was organized by the Union of Associations and Entities for the Care of Drug Users (UNAD) and was aimed at legal professionals to raise awareness about the importance of treatment within the criminal justice process.

Participation in the Research Session “Prison, Treatment, and Reintegration
On November 21, the Research Session “Prison, Treatment, and Reintegration” was held at the Centre for Legal Studies and Specialized Training (CEJFE), featuring the presentation of two research projects on the topic.
One of the studies presented was The Reintegration of Individuals Completing Sentences under the Ordinary Regime, conducted by Aina Ibàñez i Roig, research technician, and Josep Cid, coordinator of the research group.
Carmen Navarro participates in the “Women and Prison” convention
On September 22, 2017, Dr. Carmen Navarro, a researcher from the group, participated in the convention “Donne e carcere Normative ed esperienze a confronto”, organized by the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
She delivered a presentation regarding imprisoned women with children and their situation under Spanish regulations.

Several researchers from the group participated in the 17th Annual Conference of the European Society of Criminology (EuroCrim 2017), held in Cardiff (UK) from September 13 to 16, 2017.
Anna Meléndez participates in the 13th Chilean Conference on Criminal Law and Penal Sciences
On November 24 and 25, 2016, Dr. Meléndez presented the paper “The challenge of criminal mediation in the offender’s change process: Results of empirical research in Catalonia, Spain” at the XIII Chilean Conference on Criminal Law and Penal Sciences held in Valdivia, Chile.

COST Final Conference: Bridging Research, Policy and Practice
On March 11 and 12, 2016, the final congress of the European project “Offender Supervision in Europe” was held in Brussels (Belgium), marking the conclusion of four years of research by a network of European researchers from 23 different countries on this subject (COST Action IS1106). Dr. Josep Cid (who appears in the first and third photos) and Dr. Anna Meléndez participated as members of this research group.
Participation in the European Research(ers’) Day
Eugenia Albani participated on December 11, 2015, in the European Research(ers’) Day, an event created to launch an active network of European researchers based in Japan and organized by EURAXESS Links Japan. She presented her study based on social media titled “The European Journal of Criminology: A social network analysis.”
New project funded by RecerCaixa

From September 15 to 17, 2014, the international congress “Desistance – Sketching the Future” was held, organized by the Centre for Criminological Research at the University of Sheffield (United Kingdom), bringing together several internationally renowned researchers in the field of desistance.
Presentation of the research “Regression to second degree: causes and consequences”
On September 30, the research session “Case management in the prison system” took place at the Center for Legal Studies and Specialized Training (CEJFE).
