Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering. Throughout her research career, she has participated in various national and international projects as well as agreements with companies and public administrations in the field of waste valorisation and the assessment of associated environmental impacts. Thus, she has worked on processes such as composting, anaerobic digestion and solid‑state fermentation, the latter being her main current focus. For these processes, in some cases at laboratory scale and in others at industrial scale, she has studied the resulting gas emissions, which cause different environmental impacts both at the local level (odours) and at the global level (greenhouse gases). In the field of gaseous emissions, she has also taken part in the study of those associated with controlled landfills.
In the academic sphere, she has served as Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, of the PhD Programme in Environmental Science and Technology, and as Deputy Director of the School of Engineering, and has taught in the Bachelor’s Degrees in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, and Food Science and Technology at the UAB.
She holds a Degree in Chemistry from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Girona.
