Full Professor in the Department of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering. Chemical Engineer (1999) and PhD in Environmental Science and Technology (2005) from the UAB, she works mainly on solid-state fermentation of organic waste for its conversion into marketable products and on the production of biosurfactants (sophorolipids, MELs, lipopeptides) by submerged and solid-state fermentation.
