Research Group on RFID, Antennas and Communication Devices

From RFID to next-generation wireless power transfer

GRADCOM is a research group at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona working on advanced radiofrequency, microwave and electromagnetic technologies. Our research combines electromagnetic theory, circuit design, numerical simulation, prototyping and experimental validation to develop innovative solutions for wireless communication, RFID, antennas, electromagnetic field control and wireless power transfer.

Our activity focuses on the design of field-control structures, high-frequency circuits and electromagnetic systems with applications in industrial identification, near-field communication, electromagnetic measurement and characterization, and emerging wireless energy transfer technologies.

We collaborate with academic institutions, technology centres and industry partners to transform fundamental electromagnetic concepts into practical devices, demonstrators and transferable technologies.

Main Research Areas

  • RFID Systems and Industrial Identification
  • Antennas and Wireless Communication Systems
  • RF and Microwave Circuits
  • Electromagnetic Field Control and Confinement
