Prof. Jordi Bonache is the leader of GRADCOM and an internationally recognized researcher in electromagnetic structures, metamaterials, RFID systems, microwave circuits, antennas and wireless power transfer. He has authored more than 200 scientific publications, accumulated over 12,000 citations, and holds several international patents. His research has contributed to the development of metamaterial-inspired devices, electromagnetic field confinement techniques, RFID technologies and emerging wireless power transfer systems.

Dr. Gerard Zamora
Senior Researcher
Dr. Gerard Zamora is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and a senior researcher at GRADCOM. His work focuses on applied electromagnetics, antenna systems and waveguide technologies, combining theoretical analysis, numerical modelling and experimental validation.
He has contributed to the development of advanced electromagnetic structures for field confinement, guided-wave propagation, RFID systems and antenna engineering, with applications ranging from wireless communications to emerging wireless power transfer technologies.

Dr. Álvaro Jaque
External Research Collaborator
Dr. Álvaro Jaque is an industrial engineer and external research collaborator of GRADCOM. He currently develops engineering activities within the CT Engineering Group, contributing to high-technology projects in collaboration with major industrial partners.
His collaboration with GRADCOM focuses on the development of advanced wireless power transfer technologies, electromagnetic field confinement systems, and innovative energy-transfer solutions for future mobility applications. He actively contributes to the conceptualization, validation and technology-transfer activities associated with next-generation electromagnetic infrastructures.
By combining industrial engineering experience with applied research, he helps bridge the gap between scientific innovation and real-world deployment, particularly in the fields of sustainable mobility, energy systems and large-scale technological infrastructures.

Bruno Palombizio
PhD Researcher
Bruno Palombizio is a PhD researcher at GRADCOM working on advanced antenna engineering and automated electromagnetic design methodologies. His research focuses on the development of Artificial Space Mapping (ASM) techniques for the synthesis and optimization of resonant unit cells and Leaky-Wave Antennas (LWAs).
His work contributes to the design of antennas and field-confinement structures with tailored radiation characteristics, enabling efficient implementation of complex electromagnetic functionalities.

Marc Guerrero
Research Support Engineer (TSR)
Marc Guerrero is a Research Support Engineer at GRADCOM. His work focuses on the design, simulation and experimental characterization of microwave and electromagnetic devices, including field-confinement structures, SIW technologies and high-efficiency RF circuits.
He contributes to the development of advanced electromagnetic systems through numerical simulation, prototyping and laboratory validation.

Arianna Estivill
Undergraduate Research Intern
Arianna Estivill is an undergraduate student collaborating with GRADCOM through a research internship. Her activities focus on the experimental validation of RFID technologies, antenna characterization and electromagnetic measurement techniques.
She is involved in laboratory testing, data acquisition and analysis, numerical simulation support, and the evaluation of prototype performance in real-world operating conditions. Her work contributes to the validation of advanced RFID and electromagnetic systems developed within ongoing research projects.
