Gulsah Turk-Yigitalp is a PhD candidate in English Studies at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She holds a Master’s Degree in Nationalism Studies from Central European University and a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature from Hacettepe University. She has also been a visiting scholar at the Plurilingualism Research Unit at the University of Graz to work in a project on migrants’ multilingualism. Her research interests include language policy, language ideologies, and forced migration. Her PhD project focuses on an EU-funded language teaching project for refugee students in Turkish public schools. Through the critical sociolinguistic ethnography of a primary school, she analyzes how the project functions as a tool for migration governance.
