Jornada: ‘Catalunya Barreja. Diversitat, mestissatge i cohesió social’
Benvolguts/des,
Ens plau convidar-vos a la Jornada: ‘Catalunya Barreja. Diversitat, mestissatge i cohesió social’, que tindrà lloc el proper 17 de desembre, de 10:00h. a 14:00h. a l’Espai Àgora del Museu d’Història de Catalunya (Vegeu el Programa adjunt).
Es tracta d’una jornada de transferència organitzada Grup de Recerca Consolidat INMIX – Immigració, Mestissatge i Cohesió social (Departament d’Antropologia social i cultural de la UAB), i amb la col·laboració de diferents entitats i organismes de l’administració, per parlar de la realitat de la immigració, les minories, la diversitat i el mestissatge a Catalunya, en clau proactiva de cohesió social, per tal de generar una narrativa positiva que ajudi a fer de contrapès al discurs reaccionari d’extrema dreta, xenòfob i racista, que està en perillós augment a tota Europa.
La Jornada inclou tant una visió acadèmica (amb una ponència inaugural), com política i tècnica (amb representants de l’administració i entitats) i també vivencial (amb una taula-conversatori obert).

This topical short documentary, produced by the INMIX-UAB (Research Group on Immigration, Mixedness, and Social Cohesion), features interviews with multiethnic and multiracial youth living in Catalonia, Spain, who talk about their mixed heritage and its meaning for them, their identity and sense of belonging, and their experiences of discrimination and agency. Through these narratives, MIXED VOICES reveals that the positive, empowering experiences of mixedness—a growing reality in Spain as well as across the globe—can coexist with negative stereotypes and prejudices and the continued stigmatization and discrimination of racialized groups, who are more constrained in their identity options. In this way, the documentary highlights the socially transformative aspects of mixedness while alerting us to persistent social divisions that hinder social inclusion and cohesion.
