The Food Biosafety Laboratory (LBA) is a service that provides a space that allows working with food-borne pathogens that require a level 3 of containment as established by the Real Decreto 664/1997 on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to biological agents at work

This laboratory was created to support research on food safety which is developed at the CERPTA and at the Department of Animal and Food Science of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at UAB. This facility was established in 2010 as a service, to offer it also to other Departments and Research Centres of the UAB, as well as to external users.
