I obtained a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education in 2002, and I also have a Bachelor of Philosophy and Letters with major in Education and a Bachelor of Elementary Education. I have worked in a public school (CEIP Escola Bellaterra) as Elementary and Early Childhood Education teacher for 10 years. I have conducted professional development (PD) for in-service teachers in Catalonia, and I have collaborated in several PD programs with the Navarra, Basque Country and Cantabria departments of education. I am Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Science Education at the Barcelona Autonomous University (UAB) since 2009. I have led the new Early Childhood Education program from 2008 to 2014 and I was the Director of the Mathematics and Science education department, from 2014 to 2017. My present work focuses its investigation on Early Childhood Mathematics education. I am part of the Research Group in Educational Practice and Mathematical Activity (GIPEAM), which is granted by recognition as Consolidated Research Group by the Generalitat de Catalunya. I have also created curriculum innovation projects and I have collaborated with the Institute of Education (ICE), which is part of the UAB and with the Catalonia Department of Education.
