Last week, several members of our group traveled to Cádiz to attend the XIII Cajal Conference 2026, organized by the Sociedad Española de Neurociencia (SENC).

It was a really engaging meeting, bringing together researchers from different areas of neuroscience to share ideas and discuss recent advances. Beyond the science itself, it was also a great chance to catch up with colleagues, meet new people, and exchange perspectives in a relaxed setting.

A special shoutout to Irene, who presented her work at the conference and did a fantastic job! Her talk led to some great discussions, making it a valuable opportunity to showcase what we’re working on in the lab.

And not everything was Science! One of the highlights was catching the sunset from a boat cruise, which was absolutely stunning and hard to beat.

Overall, it was a very enriching experience. We came back with new ideas, new connections, and plenty of motivation to keep pushing our research forward.
